How to sign up as a GoRoute courier

Last updated March 10, 2026

Signing up to deliver with GoRoute is quick and can be completed entirely from your phone. Most applicants are approved and ready to start within a week. Here's what you need and how the process works.

What you'll need

  • A valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID)
  • A smartphone running iOS 15+ or Android 10+
  • If delivering by car: valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and auto insurance
  • If delivering by bike or scooter: no vehicle documents required
  • Your Social Security number for the background check and tax reporting

Step-by-step signup

  1. Download the GoRoute Courier app from the App Store or Google Play. This is a separate app from the consumer GoRoute app.
  2. Create your account with your name, email, and phone number. Verify your phone number with the SMS code.
  3. Choose your delivery method. Select whether you'll deliver by car, bike, scooter, or e-bike. This determines your delivery radius and the types of orders you'll receive.
  4. Upload your documents. Take a clear photo of your government ID. If delivering by car, also upload your driver's license, registration, and insurance.
  5. Enter your personal details including your date of birth, address, and Social Security number.
  6. Consent to the background check. GoRoute runs a screening through our partner, Checkr, to verify your identity and review your history.
  7. Select your delivery zone. Choose the area where you'd like to deliver. You can change this later at any time.

What happens next

GoRoute will review your documents within 24 to 48 hours. Your background check typically takes 3 to 7 business days. You'll receive notifications as each step is approved. Once everything clears, you'll see a Start Delivering button on your home screen — and you're ready to earn.

If a document is rejected, you'll get a notification explaining why. The most common issues are blurry photos or expired IDs. Re-upload the corrected document and your review will resume automatically.
