How peak pay and busy zone bonuses work

Last updated March 4, 2026

GoRoute offers peak pay and busy zone bonuses to attract couriers during periods of high customer demand. These bonuses add extra money on top of your regular base pay and tips for each delivery.

Peak pay

Peak pay is a flat dollar bonus added to every delivery you complete during a designated peak period. For example, if peak pay is $3.00 and you complete a delivery that normally pays $8.50 base + $4 tip, your total would be $15.50 ($8.50 + $3.00 + $4.00). Peak pay amounts and times vary by zone and day — you can see upcoming peak pay windows on the home screen map and in the Schedule tab.

When peak pay is active

Peak pay is triggered by high demand combined with a limited number of available couriers. Common peak pay periods include:

  • Lunch rush (11:30 AM – 1:30 PM)
  • Dinner rush (5:00 PM – 9:00 PM)
  • Weekend evenings
  • Bad weather days (rain, snow, extreme heat)
  • Holidays and major sporting events

Busy zone bonuses

Busy zones are highlighted areas on the map where demand is currently high. Deliveries starting from a busy zone may include an additional bonus. Unlike scheduled peak pay, busy zone bonuses appear in real time and can change quickly. Keep an eye on the map during your shift and position yourself near busy areas to maximize your earnings.

Maximizing peak pay earnings

  • Schedule shifts during known peak pay windows — they're shown in advance in the Schedule tab.
  • Stay in your zone during peak periods rather than driving to a different area.
  • Complete deliveries quickly to fit more orders into the peak window.
  • Monitor weather forecasts — bad weather almost always triggers peak pay.
