How GoRoute courier insurance coverage works
Last updated February 18, 2026
GoRoute provides insurance coverage and an occupational accident policy to protect couriers while they're on active deliveries. Here's what's covered and how it works.
When coverage applies
GoRoute's insurance coverage is active from the moment you accept a delivery order until you complete the drop-off. This includes the time spent traveling to the restaurant, waiting for the order, and delivering to the customer. Coverage does not apply when you're online but waiting for an order, or when you're offline.
What's covered
- Occupational accident insurance: Covers medical expenses if you're injured during an active delivery, including emergency room visits, hospital stays, and follow-up care.
- Disability payments: If an injury prevents you from working, GoRoute's policy provides temporary disability benefits to help cover lost income during recovery.
- Third-party liability (car couriers): If you're delivering by car and cause an accident during an active delivery, GoRoute provides liability coverage for third-party injuries and property damage.
- Survivor benefits: In the tragic event of a fatality during an active delivery, GoRoute's policy provides benefits to the courier's beneficiaries.
What's not covered
GoRoute's coverage does not include damage to your personal vehicle (that's covered by your personal auto insurance), personal belongings, pre-existing medical conditions, or injuries sustained while not on an active delivery. Bike and scooter couriers should maintain their own health insurance for off-delivery coverage.
Filing a claim
If you're injured or involved in an accident during a delivery, report it immediately in the GoRoute app via Activity > Report Incident. GoRoute's insurance partner will contact you within 48 hours to begin the claims process. Keep all medical records, receipts, and documentation related to the incident.
